As clinicians learn in concert, Kolbs presents the learning cycle model as a relevant framework, as its various components are proposed in the experiences described by participants in this study. Kolb`s model, called the most influential learning style model , focuses on learning experience, not solid learning characteristics . It is based on four modes of learning: practical experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization and active experimentation. In the concrete experience phase, the individual or team encounters a new experience or a reinterpretation of an existing experience. The thoughtful observation phase involves reflection on this experience, while the abstract phase of conceptualization is characterized by the formation of new ideas or possible modifications of existing abstract ideas. Finally, the active experimentation phase is the place where the individual introduces knowledge and ideas into the planning of the next experiment. The protocol for this study was approved by a statutory ethics committee, which is part of the national executive of health services.
Information about the study was e-mailed. Team leaders were encouraged to inform their respective teams of the research project. A total of 12 DBT clinics expressed interest in the study, but one person did not exceed the required one-year DBT experience criteria. An interview program was used to focus on collecting interview data. This calendar allowed for the study of the participation of DBT participants to date and asked how they lived the team consultation meetings, what they found beneficial in them and what they felt was less advantageous. The semi-structured interviews took place face-to-face and lasted between 45 and 60 minutes.
